Research requires a lot of resources and time to do. It’s important to reach the main types of research in the development branches and complete their research.This article looks into the approach to research in terms of gradual development of the account.

Research order and the importance of research
At the basic stage (beginning of account growth from level 1 to level 26 of Stronghold), it’s better to fully focus on the following branches and types of research in them:
Research: Research Speed, Construction, Hospital Capacity, Stamina Recovery, Train Speed and Wounded Conversion.
It reduces time needed to achieve the main goals in growth, which is a priority in the game.
Research: Satchel Capacity, Labyrinth Cooldown
With its help you can be better equipped with resources if the labyrinth is passed up to floor 55.
Research: March Slots, March Capacity, Bowmen Attack, Infantry Defense and Health

The second stage of Research development begins from level 26 of University. At this stage combat features development starts. The main and crucial task at this stage is to develop Research in the Combat II branch. The features given in this branch are significantly cheaper and much more efficient than in the Combat branch that is available straightaway, their research provides growth in the form of completing Research Trials in Merlin’s ship.
The main goal you should aim at is to break through the trial because it contains huge potential for speed-ups for fast future growth. If you develop this part successfully and fast, development time stops being a problem as such.

Combat I (March Capacity, Bowmen Attack, Infantry Health and Defense)

On the Development branch in University you should primarily focus on Construction and Research. In the end they add up to 25% to the speed.
To speed up Research it’s better to develop the blue hero Sir Gaheris.
With every level he will give a bigger reduction on Research. In the future, when he gets a second star, an extra Stamina Recovery skill will become available, which will also have a positive effect on the account development in general.
To make Research cheaper you should obtain the main economist, the green hero Sir Ector. Each level of this hero gives a good reduction on Research Food.
On the Economy branch you can find passive speed-up of research. You can also find an activated skill called “Development” there that recharges once a day and gives a 20% speed-up.
The account must have such items as Dawn Coronet and Galahad’s Boots because they help to reach maximum development speed-up – 35%.
But for a start you can do with simpler items: Blessed Laurels and Speed Shoes. They will give a total of 28% speed-up.

Research can enhance you quite well by ordinary features and march size. It also influences many other game indicators, but takes a lot of time and resources to complete. That’s why your best option is to save as much resources as you can and launch research actively at the moment when you have collected everything that can make the process cheaper and faster.
An especially good bonus is activated on the Event of the kingdom, and you should wait for it to achieve active progress. Don’t forget that a truly good growth in Combat research begins only from level 26 of University and higher. Till that moment you can develop University gradually, using the resources left from Construction.
Merlin’s Trials will start to make a better profit in the form of coins and speed-ups also with the active research of Combat II in the University of levels 28-29.
